Have been back in Norfolk in recent times and this last Sunday went to a concert by this band in Hunstanton.


This is really one for the music aficionados of the EDF (such as Otta/Parkdrive etc).


Have you ever heard of this band or seen them in concert? They play Hendrix and Cream but go to great lengths to state that they are not a tribute band with silly wigs etc, just playing and recreating the music of the era. They are an incredible group of musicians and I was amazed at the sound etc. I have seen Are You Experienced (John Campbell) in the past, but this band's guitarist, Pete Orr, was far superior to him (that's not a dig at John C ), so fluent in his improvised guitar breaks. I admit that I had not come across this guy before. Anyone able to shed futher light on him? A search seems to bring up limited info.


Anyway, if this is your kind of music, you really must go and see them if you can. Highly recommended.

      My wife lost a gold hoop earring with faux diamonds somewhere between Peckham Rye and Herne Hill on Tues 11 Nov. It's about an inch diameter with an interesting 'twist' pattern. She'd be extremely grateful to get it back on the off chance that anyone has found it!

      Sorry if this is bullying, or name calling or whatever  but anyone quoting Rupert Lowe is just never ever going to have a valid point  several people misreported  that line not just the bbc - seems to have been a mishearing and I’ve seen plenty of corrections   So I don’t think it was a lie (it remains a curious distinction tho why say foreigners and nationals at all   If you want to bring back the death penalty why mention this distinction?)   Here’s a question. If Lowe or his party took power and introduced the death penalty, do you think proportionally more “nationals” or”foreign born” would receive  the death penalty? Because I think I know the answer and so do you

      I agree with HeadNun that impartiality is crucial to good, trustworthy journalism and that in this case the BBC fell short of the high standards we expect of them, also that this has led to a situation that puts the BBC in an almost impossible situation and has given fuel to those that want to destroy or control it. That said, I also agree with Sephiroth that there is an even more important issue at stake here that we must not allow to be overshadowed and that the motivation of Trump on that day was not essentially misrepresented. I think it is terrifying that Trump may be capable of muzzling and destroying an institution like the BBC, as at the same time he perpetuates  a narrative and furore that aides him as he repeatedly seeks to draw attention away from his own undoubtedly criminal behaviour. I think the BBC has to fight this and only hope that in the process they/we are not bankrupted.
