What to do with a 2.7k 3 person all-incl holiday we prob. can't use (leaves this Friday 8th, Spain)

Recommended Posts

Hello kind people.

Such a pain, but we have a ?2700 all inclusive holiday for 3 in the South of Spain, Estepona, but may not be able to use it as son (12) has eye infection and he will probably not be able to swim, so could be very grumpy if we do go - this First Choice/Thompson hotel has a water park (slides etc) as the key attraction!

We probably can't sell it (apparently illegal unless we are ATOL registered(!?)), but are looking for alternative ideas

- could swap e.g. for a week in a ski chalet next winter, or

- swap for a 2 person Laser sailing boat to use in or near London.

- leave son with family and just wife and I go...

OR???? (someone may have a much better idea...)

Go on your holiday as a family and do lots of fun family things together that don't involve water.

I'm sure after this last year in GB with its weather, politics and exams (in son's case) I'm betting you are all ready for some relaxing time together. Just watch out for the evenings. 12 is about the age when boys start to notice how interesting some girls now appear, even with an eye infection !!! Have a great time.

    • In answer to your question Pugwash, the variety of foods that they offer both in canned goods and fresh. i personally no longer am a Sainsbury customer after years - feel that the quality of both their fruit, veg and fresh products ie meat, chicken, fish is not of a quality that they use to be. Agree with Sue that Co- Op does not make for a pleasant shopping experience.  On the subject of Waitrose not coming to ED - one can only assume that market research has been done by the company which makes it a non starter which, when you think about it is strange as all the big contenders are here.. Perhaps the powers to be have never heard of ED!! Maybe a Lidl or Aldi will rear their heads but somehow can’t see it as space is way to small. Really is strange that Waitrose is a non arrival - never ceases to amaze me how many eateries are in Lordship Lane alone and the majority all survive.
    • What is it that makes Waitrose so special! Admittedly I have shopped a couple of times in the Orpington and Beckenham one - sometimes buying food which I cannot get else where. Their 'basic range' is not bad. Price for price and quality - M & S.
