earlier this week and today, ?2 raspberries in the Coop, with black mould, at the top of the berry where the plug would be,

also in Sainsbury local : they should be picked and eaten, same day, the wastage must be shocking, strawberries ok and other fruit.

I don't know if you heard the splendid Dara O'Brien on The Infinite Monkey Cage a couple of months back: "If we are going to save the world, we need to change our expectations. I come from Ireland where in Dublin, when I was a kid, a glass of fresh orange juice was a starter - literally, you could have the prawn cocktail or a glass of fresh orange juice. Now I get furious if Sainsbury's have run out of fresh kiwi fruit!" The waste we generate in the western world is sinful (self included) - your example is a very pertinent case in point.
