Live-in nanny required in Herne Hill

Recommended Posts

We are looking for an affectionate, responsible, fun-loving, live-in nanny for our two children (girl of 6 and boy of nearly 4!), to start any time between now and September, in Herne Hill.

We are a friendly family of 5 (including our small, lovable dog, Trousers!) and are looking for someone to join our household to look after the two younger members of the family.

My husband and I both work full-time (we're in the media industry), and while we love to take the children to school

each day, from September the kids will attend different schools, so the nanny would probably need to do one of the drop-offs.

We're looking for someone who:

? Speaks excellent English.

? Is aged 20+ years

? Has experience of taking care of children of a similar age to ours and who can supply 2 contactable references

? Has a genuine love and passion for looking after children.

? Is a really pro-active, energetic and sociable person, with a love of activities, from craft and playing musical instruments, to rainy day play and homework supervision.

? Is looking to make a long-term commitment.

? Wants to be an integral part of the family, rather than viewing it as 'just a job'.

? Has a UK/EU Visa/Work Permit

? Is a non-smoker

? Holds a full driving licence

We can offer you:

A large bedroom with double bed, sofa, wireless internet access etc, along with your own bathroom at the top of the house.

We live in Herne Hill, a really wonderful area with a fantastic sense of community in South-East London. Everything you need is nearby (shops and Brockwell Park are a 5 minute walk away) but we are also just 10 minutes by train from central London (trains go to both Victoria and Blackfriars).

The nearest station is Herne Hill, a 6 minute walk away and as there are lots of working mums at the children's school, there's a really active and friendly nanny community to get involved with.

Working Hours & Responsibilities:

Around 30 hours per week in term time (plus 2 nights' babysitting), full-time in the holidays (though we take 2 weeks off every summer). Salary will be paid weekly and pro-rata so that the nanny can expect to be paid consistently, regardless of whether it's term time or holidays.

Other responsibilities include:

? Supervising and helping with homework (and music practice if you're musical!)

? Ensuring children are stimulated with age-appropriate activities, including trips to the park, arts and crafts, reading & homework, organising play dates.

? Preparing tasty, varied & nutritionally balanced meals for the children

? Keeping the house tidy and cleaning up after the children.

? Doing the children?s laundry

? Helping walk the dog - we are an outdoorsy, dog-loving family so if you aren't this might not be the job for you!

We have a cleaner who cleans the whole house every Thursday.

Salary is dependent on experience, but would be around ?250/?300 per week, as well as 4 weeks' paid annual holiday, bank holidays etc.

If you are interested, please send us your CV, as well as an accompanying email briefly explaining why you think this job is for you! If we think you are a good match for us, we would like to meet you in person in London, for an informal interview, although we are happy Skype in the first instance.

We look forward to hearing from you.
