Swansea was (in my day) much more violent in terms of punching, fighting, cheap shots than here, so I know what he means. Is Colchester an army town too :)

I know London has horrible knife/gun crime, but to be honest, I never see it. It's not usually in my demographic. I haven''t had a fight since I moved here.

Then you need to try a little harder John.

Take a stroll around the Goose Green end of Lordship Lane of a Saturday afternoon and pass a few disparaging remarks about the proliferation of babies, them generally being too noisy and specifically the buggies getting in your way.

Them mothers will f*ck your sh!t up sooner'n you can say 'I'm from Swansea, me'.

You'll know you've been in a fight, believe me I've seen what those Cafe Nerro lids can do.

It hardly ever happens though. Hardly ever. Just be judicious about eye contact with mothers.

Especially them evil mothers.

Anyway JOhnL welcome to the EDF and good to have you on board.

Put several million people together in the same place and all sorts of gruesome things will occur.

However, for that pure casual face punchery of the 'you've got long hair', 'I've just finished my kebab', 'you might be a student', 'you're in my line of sight' kind, smaller towns (like Colchester, Swansea and a thousand others) win hands-down every time.

    • interesting the police said "the car was in demand at the moment" what make/model is that?
    • Just be careful to know exactly what they cover and the limits. i use Many Pets and Medivet, as I think one of the vets is exceptionally good. Some of the NHV are, but I’ve had a couple I’ve not liked at all.  I need consistency and to feel that they actually care more about the animals than the money.
    • I haven't used them myself but I noticed recently that "Snoots" in Forest Hill is going unlimited primary care for £33/month, so basically a subscription. Easy access on the 176 from East Dulwich. I have no idea what it includes so read the contract! It's a chain but only 5 branches so not a mega corporate. 🤷‍♂️ https://www.snootsvet.com/find-us
