Hello,

My wife and I would be interested to see this flat. Can you describe the layout and send a few more photos along?

We are currently living in a flat my work has provided as we have just moved here from New York. We spend most of our time in the kitchen and dining room. We will be in London for 3 years and are looking for the perfect place to spend that time. Also can you send the address so we can see about transport links?

Thank you. We look forward to hearing back from you.

Eric

Hi Eric. Welcome to London!

East Dulwich is a great place to live (and voted in top 5 in London). Although it's South of the river, it has great transport links. The local station connects to London Bridge in 12 mins. A wide variety of buses into town and surrounding areas (Trafalgar / Leicester sq, Tottenham court Road, Brixton, Herne Hill etc). The flat's postcode is SE22 8DQ. 5 mins walk to station and Lordship Lane. There's Dulwich Park (one of the original Victoria park's alongside Regents, Hyde, Battersea etc) in Dulwich Village 10 mins walk. I work in Blackfriars and cycle to work in 20 mins.

Flat is 1 bed. Living room at the front and set back from road. It's is very quiet due to secondary glazing. Kitchen is in the middle with door to rear of the property. Bathroom with rain shower and separate toilet. Bedroom is at the rear overlooking garden. You get sun in the morning through large original sash windows (which have custom double glazing). Garden is private to the flat and not really overlooked. It's easy to forget you are in Zone 2. You get the sun until late in the summer.

Communal areas were recently refurbished with new paintwork and thick carpet. There's 2 other flats (3 story house) which are owner occupied. I am actually the overall director of the freehold company and live just round the corner with my wife.

Neighbors are very friendly and often out on their gardens.

I've attached a few more photos for you. if you need anything else or information on the locality, please feel free to email me

kind regards, rob

    • How long is a piece of string?  Depends whether you are building 'new towns' or brown field urban sites. I expect developers, planners and builders know far more than we do.  Where are you getting your information about infrastructure from ?  Your comment on new reservoirs seems more relevant to population expansion and/or climate change.

Since then, they have been found guilty and fined for illegal street trading and collections in June in the City of London. https://news.cityoflondon.gov.uk/we-r-blighty-pleads-guilty-of-illegal-street-trading-and-collections-in-the-city/
    • The Government has set an ambitios target to build 1.5 million new homes bu the end of this 4 year term. Possibly unachievable due to various issues in the building industry but ambitious none the less.  What they seem to have failed to plan for, which was brought home by this year's drought, is adding more inferstructure including Reservoirs, power lines and sewerage treatment centres.  Ate they setting us up for more problems in the future?
    • If you know the layout of the Chequers estate, it is clearly unfeasible and logistically complex to project images onto the facade of the main building. Unless you are the military or something.
