Hi all,

The National Breastfeeding Awareness Week is a key event for promoting breastfeeding by raising awareness of the health benefits, to increase social acceptance and promote support for it. We have lots of things going on in Southwark and would love to see you and your baby.

MONDAY 21/06 - CELEBRATING NATIONAL BREASTFEEDING WEEK @ SUNSHINE HOUSE, 27 PECKHAM ROAD. SE5 8UH.

This event will be held from 10am to 3pm on Monday. We have a summer fashion show of maternity and breastfeeding clothing, and also a show of sling designs and variants taking place (we will have on hand 2/3 trustee sling 'goddesses' who can hopefully answer your questions and give advice). Graduation awards on the day for the newest breastfeeding peer counsellors to join the team in Southwark. Health promotion, and a taster of the breastfeeding art workshop. Including a raffle for some lovely prizes. Plenty of refreshments.

Plus you can meet other pregnant and breastfeeding mothers in our area! Look forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

    • I haven't had a rude EVRI delivery but last week I had an unexpected delivery at 10.42 pm. He didn't ring the bell or knock on the door (or rattle the letter flap) but just took a photo and put the box down.  If it hadnt been for the door camera giving us a beep we would never have known there was a parcel ready to sit there all night.
    • Sorry if I’m being slow but there’s no point in having a gate then is there?  Would have thought it was basic manners to respect someone’s property
    • I didn't say wedge it "slightly" open. I meant to wedge it fully open.
    • I have a rescue Spanish greyhound (galgo) from the charity mentioned above. You can contact Greyhounds in Need or one of the more local Kent greyhound rescue charities. They are fantastic family dogs. They do love walkies 2 or 3 times a day but they actually don't need to be walked too far and then they will happily loaf around on the sofa being very chill. They are brilliant with kids but not recommended if you own a cat as they have a strong prey drive. They also should be kept on the lead in local parks. They prefer to be around other sight-hounds (well my one does) and there are loads of local sighthound owners in Peckham, Crystal Palace etc and a very lively WhatsApp group that is brilliant if you need dog sitting as you can usually find someone to do that for free in return for you looking after the dog at a later date etc.
