Best way to send packages to the US?

Hi all,

A few friends in the US are having kids this year and I'd like to send them packages. What is the cheapest way to do so? Won't send anything perishable so is fine if it takes a week or more.

I have used Royal Mail services for years and found them to be fine for sending parcels to the US. xx

I would advise being circumspect when filling out the customs form red the contents. Undervalue the items, you don't want to make them sound worth stealing.

You can also order from Amazon.com to be delivered direct to them to save on the shipping costs. Not sure if they have a gift wrap option though...

Or etsy or smaller suppliers. I'd do that as otherwise youll spend more on shipping then the contents. Also, I wouldn't be wary of the package being stolen, but would be worried about it being stopped by customs. I've had to shell out over ?50 as my aunt in the US sent me some blocks my grandfather made in the 70s and she had valued them as being $200 or something.
