Rose's Fish & Chips

Recommended Posts

Just thought I would post a note to give Rose's Fish Bar, East Dulwich Road, a thumbs up. It hasn't been open long and I've already eaten their takeaways more times than is good for my waistline. Each time, the cod has been thick with big chunky flakes and crispy batter and the portions of chips have been massive. The service is friendly and the shop is spotlessly clean.

I never tried the shop when it was run by the previous owners, having read the bad reviews on here, so I thought it's only fair to put a positive comment about the new place.

It is indeed very good, I agree.

I have also previously posted a recommendation on here for Cod Father on Bellenden Road having had one excellent meal there. Unfortunately I went there a second time recently and was less than impressed. Cod was far too greasy and probably could have done with being drained off for a little longer.

Rose's is going to be my go-to place for the foreseeable future.

I’ve also used Rosie’s fish bar and the food is lovely always delivered at a good temperature. Definitely recommend

So a person living and working  in England but staying in a hotel in  Southwark for work purposes (say) would have to pay this tax (or their employer would)? But a tourist from France (say),  staying in a hotel outside Southwark but visiting all the Southwark "tourist attractions" wouldn't?

They are a pleasure to work with and they made the whole process as smooth as possible.  John is trustworthy and reliable and takes great pride in his work. He is also an excellent problem solver - nothing fazes him.  He was also happy to come back for any snagging issues once the work was completed.  I am delighted with my new kitchen and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.  His email is [email protected]
