We lounged around on the grass, sampled various (mostly Mexican) cuisine, and generally enjoyed soaking up the sights and sounds. Had to get baby M home for bathtime, so missed the evening's events, but we had a great day out.

PS: The food at those stalls is so much better and more authentic than any 'proper' latin american restaurants I've tried in London - those guys should open up their own space. Especially since we went to wahaca on Saturday (new poncey Mexican restaurant near charing cross) and it wasn't nearly as good as the carnival...

PPS: Maybe they could run the new Peckham Rye Park Cafe?!

      There  is a dance fit class at Harris girls on a Monday evening 630 pm which I have been going to for years . It is an inclusive class  with a wide range of ages.    The  teacher is Fi and she is amazing and  the classes are lots of fun.   look on the web justdanceuk .com. There are other dance classes  (flowetic )that Fi and the lovely Lizzie runs  at Harris girls too . They also have an event next week which is a bit further- near Penge  which is a day of dance to include  just dance fit, dancehall, line dancing, garage fit and flowetic . Which is also available to book on that website  ( look at the events section) .

      I didn't realise that either! I thought it just meant division within communities - religious, racial or otherwise.  Yes, it is frightening. The days of the broad church political party are over.

      So I've done a little more research into the current use of the word, I hadn't realised it had latterly been used to describe anti Muslim feelings. Still don't like the use of the word. These are horrible times and am fearful for the future.
