Don't do it!! I know it's tempting but the number of people I know who have ended up not in labour but with uncomfortable post spicy curry tummy on top of their late pregnancy woes....It's just not worth it. Particularly if you DO end up in labour...you really don't want to be also wanting to sit on the loo most of the time.

Maybe there are other positive experiences people can share.

I tried acupuncture at 9 days overdue. I was in labour 48 hours later. Probably coincidence. Ended up a very long protracted labour (over 48 hours) so have always wondered whether he didn't like being hurried!

When was/is your due date? Have you had enough?! Quite understand that one...

i agree, worst case you end up with a bad stomach during labour!

things that i think worked for me are reflexology, a sweep, and kerb walking (which sounds awful but its walking with one foot on and one off the kerb)

i ate so many hot curries i went off curry (and i really love curry)

having said that... tandoori nights is my curry house of choice.

Ah, Tandoori nights!!!!

I love their chicken red chicken handi... Please tell me they still do it. Haven't been since the boy arrived 4 years ago as they don't deliver and we'd moved beyond easy pick up distance...

Don't go near it Sophie - its nuclear and will mess with your insides but God I love it.

I had an early baby so no direct experience but remember some friends talking about some rosehip tea or something which they got from the health shop on LL. The staff in there are always very helpful I find, perhaps worth going to see them and ask for their opinion?

    • The other side of P13 drivers being risk averse is that I  have been on P13s at night that speeded (?sped?) down Underhill Road so fast I seriously thought they might crash.
    • Some P13 drivers appear very risk averse. I live in Underhill and on that road drivers are forced to back away, often considerable distances, from buses to allow them to pass, even when the bus has an immediate space it could back into. The driver at the time said that buses 'weren't allowed to back'. So reports of cars 'blocking' P13s might mean simply that the car was legally parked but the road too narrow,or the bus driver not prepared to risk advancing. NB some P13 drivers are both skilled and courteous, but not all.
    • I’ve experienced the same in Herne Hill. It’s definitely linked to where there are already marked bays, it prevents you from parking within approx 200-400 metres around the bay. Dulwich Village has quite a few bays, which probably explains why you’ve noticed it there and not elsewhere.
