We are looking for an afternoon nanny/carer for our 2 children ? 14 year old daughter (in Year 10) and 12 year old son (in Year 8). The role involves approximately 20 hours during term-time (3-7pm) and is mostly full-time during school holidays. There will also be additional hours on an ad hoc basis during term time (including babysitting) so flexibility is key - living nearby would definitely be an advantage.

You must be warm, supportive and caring with a sense of fun. You must also be responsible, reliable, trustworthy and organised as you will need to keep track of the children?s schedules and help them to be organized.

You will be responsible for the children in the afternoons, coordinating after-school activities, supervising homework and cooking their evening meals. You will also be expected to assist with light household duties such as washing/ironing of children?s clothes, tidying children?s areas & kitchen, child-related admin etc. We have a lovely cleaner so heavier housework is not expected.

You must be fluent in English and able to supervise/help with homework. Excellent references and a genuine enthusiasm for caring for our children and supporting them as they grow is required.

Please respond with your CV if interested. Thank you!

    • The shops selling gifts, interior stuff and clothes all sell different gifts, interiors stuff and clothes. They don't all have identical items, which would be ridiculous. It's a  completely different situation. The coffee shops and restaurants mostly also have different vibes, different food etc and cater to different tastes and pockets. The two empanada places have virtually identical displays of identical looking empanadas. I don't think anyone has suggested this move is "malicious" - that would make it even worse. Cheeky, yes, given the proximity to the first shop. I agree this is good advertising, though most people in ED probably don't look at the ED Forum (I stand to be corrected). Re the "organic grocer", if it's the one on the same side as Chango, yes their snacks are very tasty.  Unfortunately we were short changed there on several occasions when calling in late at night, and were once asked  a ridiculous price for a few items (with no price tickets on the snacks) so we don't go there any more. Hopefully these were all genuine mistakes, and hopefully things have improved since their refurb.
    • Makes sense though… or do you not think so? Can’t book anything without dates!!
    • Well I did say I stand to be corrected! Fair enough, their website only seemed to list three branches. Perhaps it's a franchise model?  It's known as 'agglomeration' in economics Rookie error.
