Hello All,

There has been a group of Dulwich people who have been fundraising for Oxfam for many years and we are now looking to get new people on board. We are looking for volunteers from the local area who will organise events from gala dinners to pub quiz nights and bridge tournaments.

We are having a meeting on Tuesday 13th July at The Crown and Greyhound in Dulwich Village from 6 - 8.30. It's a chnce to find out more about what is involved and find out more about Oxfam's work around the world. Please come along if you are free.

Local change, global impact.

I think you probably mean "ceilidh". See

I hope "Spell the word, "ceilidh"." doesn't come up in the pub quiz. If you are thinking of a Burns' Supper type event at the end of January then I may know a Scottish pedant who could be prevailed upon to read from the bard but not sure if the audience would get it.

Best wishes, Alec

Clinical staff have been great (if you can get an appointment) but apparently the Practice has a ‘new system’ in place. You can’t phone for an appointment, you have to go ‘on the app’ and request one. GP will review the request at some unspecified point and decide whether to offer you an appointment . My experience of using the app hasn’t been good and I’m a bit horrified that folk can no longer arrange appointments by phone or by walking in. I’ve also had them lose referral forms, and had to chase them multiple times over a simple GP letter. This has never been my experience in the past so it’s alarming. Anyway, I’ve asked to be included in the Patient Participation Panel, so I’m interested in the experience of others, good & bad? Feel free to PM me, if you prefer!

    • Based on what I’ve seen, you can get yogurt in small glass jars from milkman now if you miss those.  Butter and bread is also available.  One of the dairies has fresh bread from a bakery in Brockley, but that bakery also do their own deliveries which I had been thinking of trying.
    • Of course you also had lot's of local diaries. My grandmother had a job as a milkmaid in Camberwell when she was young!
