After school nanny needed - Herne Hill

Recommended Posts

We are looking for a friendly and reliable person to pick up our three children (aged 10, 7 and nearly 5) from Rosendale school at 3.25pm 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) and look after them until we get home at around 6.30pm.

We live right opposite Brockwell park, around a 10 minute walk from school - and the kids enjoy playing in the park after school when the weather allows. On a Tuesday, the children have a swimming lesson at west Norwood pool which is a short bus ride away - so we'd expect you to take them to and from that on a Tuesday, and on other days play with the kids, help them with any activities they want to do, host the occasional playdate with other children, as well as cook them tea.

There may also be occasional babysitting on offer if that is of interest.

The pay is ?10 an hour and we need someone to start the week commencing 4th October - with possibly a few hours the week before to get to know the kids and where things are around the house and neighbourhood.

Please PM me with your name, contact details, any relevant childcare experience you have, and a bit of information about yourself.

Thanks!

Emily

    • Thanks very much for that.   I think the better informed we are, the better our discussions will be. The article contained: "That arrest had quite an impact on the [phone theft] numbers for the following month,” said Green.  Here's another indicator, admittedly a piece of police PR,  of how well-targeted police efforts, mostly invisible to us,  can when successful  seriously affect offending figures: https://news.met.police.uk/news/met-police-drive-down-theft-and-robbery-by-84-percent-in-battersea-and-nine-elms-500495.
    • Another excellent article from Jim Waterson's London Centric reporting https://www.londoncentric.media/p/kitchen-foil-and-algerian-markets?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email Interesting that there seem to be favoured and repeated routes for phone snatching for particular thieves.  Seems ED might be one of them ☹️
    • Anywhere near the Overground/Windrush due to its excellent transport links.  You will get larger place in SE23 for example that will give you enough spare cash for private school if that's what you really want but states schools generally good, reflecting the demographic  Easy to get to the bustling streets of East Dulwich but in ten years see what happens to Forest Hill centre.  The whole of the area is full of green spaces. Access to East Croydon for days out in the South Coast
    • Could East Dulwich or Forest Hill work? Some properties on Underhill Road and Wood Vale have large gardens e.g.  https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/161079866#/?channel=RES_BUY  You'd be close to the Horniman, Dulwich Park and Peckham Rye. Transport might not be what you're looking for though e.g. a 15 minute walk to Forest Hill station for the East London line or mainline into London Bridge.
