Brilliant Nanny Recommendation

I can recommend my children's lovely nanny who is looking for more work during the week, full days, Monday to Wednesday ideally starting immediately.

Our nanny has been with us for over 3 and a half years now and she is very much part of the family. I have four children (now aged 2 to 8 years) and she takes care of them, sole charge, while I'm at work.

The school run is usually handled by a family friend, who works at the children's school, so our nanny looks after my two youngest (2 and 4 years) and then the older two (6 and 8) after school.

My children warmed to her very quickly, as did my husband and I. She takes the children out to activities; music/singing classes, soft play, the park, the library and museums. She often arranges play dates for my older girls and during school holidays, their days are spent outside, exploring city farms, or engaging in arts and crafts at home, baking, dancing and whatever fun activities they can think of!

We don't watch tv or use tablets much in our home, so my children are encouraged to be creative and fuel their imagination by listening to music and stories. Our nanny supports their learning by reading to and with them as well as assisting with homework. She cooks healthy, nutritious meals for the children and we share an interest in fresh, organic food, so I feel secure knowing my children are eating well in her care. She even keeps a daily log of their activities and their meals as well as including lots of pictures.

Our nanny has 8 years of childcare experience (ranging from newborns to schoolage children), excellent references, and a true love of children.

She is available Monday to Wednesday and she is preferably seeking 2/3 full days; she is also looking for evening babysitting in addition to work during the week. She can start immediately and she's located in Camberwell.

If you're interested, send me a message and I will pass on her contact details.

    • There's not enough people talking about this - I've often worried about it too  One busy staff's mistakes will not make my pockets lighter, thank you very much. Thanks Sue and all the best for the new year.
    • I don't want to name a shop, but I have twice at this busy time of year had an issue, and yesterday was overcharged when buying a number of small things. If you are using a shop which doesn't give an itemised receipt, or doesn't give a receipt at all, just be aware that it might be a good idea to check that you are not paying over the odds (and if using cash, that you are given the right change for what you handed over). When staff are busy they might make mistakes.
    • As I had a moan on here about the truly abysmal Christmas meal we had at The Cherry Tree last year, I am redressing the balance by saying we had a really excellent Christmas meal at Franklins last night. Every course was absolutely delicious and  really well cooked. The staff were lovely despite being exhausted and run off their feet. In particular, my sea bass was a large portion and cooked to perfection, in stark contrast to the small dried up portion The Cherry Tree provided, from which I was barely able to scrape a teaspoonful of flesh (that is not an exaggeration). And our Franklins meal cost less than half what we paid at The Cherry Tree (to be fair, that was on Christmas Day so the Cherry Tree costs would have been higher, but that doesn't excuse the appalling quality meal). Thank you again to Franklins for restoring our faith in eating out at Christmas!
