After some advice. A large crack has recently appeared in our bay window, more than the normal bit of plaster cracking once might see, there appears to be some definite and substantial movement in the house, there is s similar crack on the outside too..

We obviously want to get this checked out ASAP. I'm not really sure who to call here. Do I start with my insurance company? and they send someone around. Or is it a Chartered Surveyor? Or a structural Engineer?

Any past experience appreciated.

Call your insurance company.

They will appoint a loss adjuster to survey the crack. More than likely they will then commission a structural engineers report that will examine the issue and recommend remedial action. You normally have a choice of using the insurance companies structural engineer or you can choose your own and the insurance company cover the costs.

You could also call Goddens Structural for advice.

    • Hi all My car was stolen between 1.30pm-1.50pm today in SE22 East Dulwich in South East London. I have of course reported this to the police but not much is being done, so I thought I'd give this a shot. The registration is GM66YOV, though its possible the licence plate may have been changed by now. If you see it anywhere please contact me or the police. Thankyou!
    • Years ago, got my ears pierced, alcohol on site, gun ..done.. Simple.. Gosh, surely your daughter of mothers can recommend  - do you really need to post on forum? Or maybe you home school whatever.. still recovering from shock, posted along the lines of, advice needed about adopting/ buying a dog…. Guess I am now at a age, where I should just keep quiet and pass no comment and read  postings like a “soap” - cheaper than tv licence…

    • I would'nt go locally I'd go to Maria Tash in Liberty..it'll be more expensive but they will do a good job and its their buisness not a 'sideline' to other beauty offerings. https://www.mariatash.com/store-locations/maria-tash-london-liberty?srsltid=AfmBOoqMz7Ev-4YqzrlkePX0n3i5JbiggGYSR9kU5z1p_ajP_jjQKqlt I have no experience of piercing at Polished but I went in to enquire about a manicure and I found the staff attitude pretty rude, looking me up and down when I walked in and just giving off a bad attitude like they just could'nt be bothered maybe because I'm not a glam 30 something? I dont know.
