Undiscovered
I'm thinking about sending my 5 year old to rainbows. I did a lot of brownies and guiding as a child / young person and gave terrific memories. I was never a rainbow though. In particular, we aren't religious and whilst I personally can't remember much past church parade as a brownie/guide, but maybe I've just forgotten. Is religion a large part of meetings? Does it depend on the pack? Thanks so much for any thoughts either by PM or reply. mybaby178
Hi , I can only give my experience based on the Rainbows unit that my daughter attended. The rainbow pack she attended is part of her school so I'm not sure if this makes a difference but there was no religious input at all , the meetings were great fun ( I am a helper there) and the girls have great fun working towards their different badges, they have done fire safety this year, a performance badge, hostess badge, arts and crafts etc, they go on trips as well but nothing overnight .The girls have great fun and it is a lovely atmosphere , I haven't any experience with ones out of school so I'm not sure what the set ups are like.
