This discription sounds very, very similar to a woman who has been working similar sob stories in the Peckham Rye, Camberwell, area for at least the last ten years. It sounds too similar not to be the same person.

She has approached me several times and other visiting members of my family once or twice in that time. She has also knocked on our door usually around 8 to 10 at night. I have given her money in the past. I've seen her hit on a lot of other people in the street in that time too. She can be a bit in yer face with her requests but not threatening and always just walks away when you say no.

The story almost always involves a baby and a heart string tugging request although offers of sexual services have also been made. I don't know how she is physically working the lactation thing in these latest reports although perhaps she has actually recently had a baby.

It is sad and it appears to me to be mental illness issue.

I am all for supporting local business and personally very glad after appalling service earlier this year Gail’s has closed.. Change of staff and chefs were unreal.. In one month alone must have had at least 4 new chefs plus god knows how many waiters/ waitresses.. when Ai saw that happening, new it was gonna be down hill all the way.

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
