Superhero training? Do different stations with superhero skills. Give them each a card or a piece of paper with skills listed, and use stamp or stickers to reward each skill completed. Then reward with small superhero party favour at the end. Skill stations could include - fast dressup in costume (for quick change in a superhero emergency); timed obstacle course for speed, etc. FUN!!
We did a superhero party for one of our daughters parties. Everyone was asked to come in fancy dress and my mother in law also made us a few cheap capes for anyone that didnt have fancy dress. We had Mr Amigo for the entertainment and the kids loved him. Also we made a photo booth area using a clothes rail and a plastic 'cityscape' backdrop i found cheap on eBay and the kids had their pictures taken infront of that and we made some props on sticks like speech bubbles saying kapow etc for them to hold up.

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
