This thread is from last week! - See the one below for hints about this week's quiz :) See you soon. Many hands... in a team' can sometimes help win a quiz but if you can complete the actual proverb then you are sure to get at least one point at the Plough's weekly Thursday night quiz. The truth is that we've had couples win the quiz before so size rarely matters. And remember, amongst the fun, we have many prizes at both ends of the scale.

This friendly general knowledge and picture quiz is only ?1.50 per person to enter and there's a chance to win cash or a lovely bottle of house wine if you come second-to-last. There's bonus drinks, sweets and cookies to win too. It's an 8 for 8.30pm start in the left-hand-side bar as you walk into the front of the pub. If you are peckish then you can eat and quiz too with a great menu to choose from. See you soon!

Hello. I've only just spotted your message on last week's thread, which is a bit odd because I normally get an email if someone tries to get in touch. Anyway, sorry not to reply sooner. It's quite a friendly quiz and sometimes, regular teams have been happy to welcome people who are by themselves into their ranks. Failing that, I've had many people over the years attend by themselves, either taking part just for fun or entering formally, so you'd be welcome either way. Best wishes

Jason

    • Agree that councils were not allowed to plough back housing revenue to create or improve stock. Young people especially, if they are lucky to have a decent job salary wise, find it impossible almost to find rented accommodation which is in a reasonable condition. We have a family member who is sharing a 3 bed ex council flat in Kings Cross area and are paying £2,500 pm between the 4 of them plus all utilities.
    • It wasn’t that long ago that Southwark planted a strip of seed bearing plants specifically for birds. It was parallel to Peckham Rye by the Harris Boys’ school. Naturally, it has disappeared courtesy of Gala.
    • Silly comment.  Read the attachment.  Or go to i-player and watch Winterwatch: https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/documentaries/winterwatch-jack-baddams-protect-birds-comment/ Our gardens are not natural, many of the birds that use them are dependent on us.  Most of us feed the birds, including myself, do it for our own pleasure rather than in a belief that we are reversing the damage done to nature by humans over recent centuries.
    • Thanks @Sue I had no idea what they delivered. Personally I just dont get why anyone living in London would bother with something like this, We can all pop down the road and buy bread, pastries etc and know what we're getting.. Just seems a bit of a yuppie fad and waste of money. But thats just my opinion!
