cleaning limestone tiles

I have foolishly tried to clean some grouting with a cleaner that has left patches on the limestone floor tiles. Is there anything I could try. thanks

What was cleaner, and did you use it full strength or diluted? What do the patches look like in comparison to the other tiles.

Unable to assist with restoring the limestone tiles but for future cleaning attacks a mixture of vinegar and bicarbonate scrubbed onto grouting brings it up a treat.

Hydrogen peroxide cleans perfectly tough grout stains, I think it can be helpful for limestone stains, too. Another option is to call professionals to clean it: http://cleanngone.com/

Depending on what you used you may have etched the stone - if it's minor it should be able to be polished out / wear in time through traffic.

I spent hours this weekend Cleaning a limestone floor, particularly the grout. I used a multi purpose cleaner by "Method" which is safe for stone and with a soft brush worked well.

Having started, and then had to continue as you can't do one small part, I've decided to invest in a floor cleaner!
