Hi Prospective Nannies


I have a 5 month old boy and am looking for childcare for 2 afternoons or mornings per week, a total 10 hours in the Upper Sydenham / Sydenham Hill / Forest Hill borders to allow me time to work.


Flexible on days but would like him cared for at my home but with walks out etc.

Hi Rosanna!

I just came across your posting after my recent nanny-mom referred me to the E Dulwich forum to find another family. While I am 23, I have worked in childcare professionally for five years, including paid childcare jobs, private babysitting, and private part-time nannying. I have just finished my master?s course at UCL and will be working there two days per week. Therefore, I am available immediately and for two-three days per week (and occasional weekends or babysitting nights as well!). I have been DBS checked for uni last year, so that is still current.


My CV is attached, and I am happy to put you in contact with my previous family or the emails of my previous jobs if desired. The CV attached is primarily used for my research applications, thus older childcare positions are not included.


My rates do vary, depending on hours worked per day etc. Typically, I look for about 7.50-10 per hour (with more hours worked lowering the rate), though I am flexible.


I do hope to hear back and look forward to the possibility of meeting your family!

      So you don't feel safe in London, but you don't want to live elsewhere? What do you do, barricade yourself in your home and never venture out? I have my eyes (sic)  open. Yes there is crime in London. That doesn't make London "lawless".

      Well good for you, I don't feel safe. And saying why don't I go and live somewhere else is crass.  Yes London is lawless, open your eys and see the reality.

      Also, as discussed on another thread, that particular  assailant was possibly (we don't know)  mentally ill. Whereas I'm guessing most crimes locally are   committed for money, (ie things that can be sold, or in hopes of insurance money), food (if someone is really desperate, or to sell) or just pure mischief (like the recent goings on on Peckham Rye). I'm a 76 year old woman, and I feel safe on the streets, and I frequently go to Central London. If you seriously don't feel safe living here, why on earth don't you go and live somewhere else?! It's absolute nonsense to say London is lawless, and it's absolute nonsense to say the police stand by and do nothing. There will always be crime. It used to be cutpurses and highwaymen. And organised gangs of thieves. And people like Jack the Ripper.

      No it is not, it is a fact whether you like it or not. Do you feel safe on the streets, because I don't, do you go too central London, I don't as I don't feel safe. No one knows if someone is i) carrying a weapon or a knife and ii) you don't know what will trigger them to use it. So feel free to live in your bubble, but the reality is London is lawless and the police stand by and do nothing.
