Southwark's Overview and Scrutiny Committee is carrying out an investigation into the problems relating to peak-time travel across the borough. We want to know about those issues, big and small, which make it difficult for you to get to work or get the kids to school in the morning. Are there bus stops where people just can't get on the bus because it's always to crowded? Is it difficult getting in and out of your train station at peak times? Are there cycling routes which you feel are unsafe?

We also want to get your positive suggestions for improvement. Could extending a bus route a little further link up the local transport network? Could more be done to relieve congestion on the roads?

Southwark Council does not have direct control over many of the issues which will come up, but the council does have significant influence. Southwark Scrutiny will engage with various organisations, including the new Mayor and TfL to bring these problems to the fore, and see if more can be done to resolve them.

The only way to resolve the issues is to ban cars on the road at peak times (no car pollution that way as well) and just have buses. London is so overcrowded with the well-off that there are 4x4 s on tiny roads it is a joke- especially from the point of view of the pollution as we already been informed

    • Between Herne Hill and North Dulwich gives you good options for transport. You have the line into London Bridge, trains to Victoria and the Thameslink into City Thameslink. Plus it's not too far from Brixton tube.
    • Wow - will do as you say - just find it extraordinary one needs to post something so trivial as this on forum - each to their own. Been a%member for a long time and know the-forum well - bought sold, given things way, had hubs and offered advice…
    • You do know that this post is the reason that forums exist? So that people can ask for help, advice etc.  I'm not sure what "...daughter of mothers"  means but if you mean friends, not everyone has friends, or is confident enough to ask other mums at the school. Oh and you it's nothing to do with your age -  be kind, be helpful or if you can't, leave it to someone who can.
