I have bought some curtains which are a bit too long and I need to shorten them.

Any advice on where I can get this kind of work done would be greatly appreciated.

Dry cleaners often offer sewing services in store. You would need to go in with the required measurement though. Otherwise there might be someone offering the service/responding to requests in the business section.
