Mother's Help needed

Recommended Posts

HELP! We are looking for a mother's help for anything between 5 - 15 hours per week to support me with childcare for a newborn (due in November) and 2 year old twins as well as tidying, laundry, cooking and general cleaning.

I will be having a C section in November and between the recovery from the operation and juggling 3 children I'm basically looking for an extra pair of hands. It would be great to find someone proactive, friendly and fun loving who genuinely loves children yet is happy to muck in and take initiative on what needs doing! We would love to find someone who fits in with our family and bonds with the children. I?ll be returning to work in October 2017 and will be looking for a nanny 4 days a week and it would be great if there?s someone just starting out in childcare who this may be suitable for now and who could then roll in to the nanny position, in an ideal world!

The twins will attend nursery 8am-6pm Tuesday ? Thursday. Hours are negotiable but would ideally be

? mornings for a few hours (from 7am) Tues ? Thursday to help get the twins ready for nursery and drop off

? evenings for a few hours (from 6pm) Tues to Thursday to collect the twins and help with bath and bedtime routine

? Other hours on Mondays and Fridays completely flexible and negotiable.

? Occasional babysitting in the evenings and at weekends

Very open minded on candidates but think the role could really suit a student or somebody looking for work experience with a view to becoming a nursery worker/nanny. Happy to consider people with limited to no past childcare experience as you won't be expected to look after any of the children on your own.

Please get in touch if you?d like to hear more or if you can recommend someone.

Thanks, Kirsty - a mum who?s slowly coming to terms with the fact that we?ll soon have 3 under 3!!!

PS we live in East Dulwich (near Heber school) and our girls are lovely and hilarious but energetic!

    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.
    • It's not really though, is it. It's practical.  At least we're allowed Christmas lights.
