Nimble Tots, in partnership with Crescendo Music, are delighted to launch our brand new ukulele based music classes for parents, carers and their little folk. These are interactive classes with no experience necessary, and will be lead by the brilliant Finn Ros who runs Crescendo Music.

Classes will run every Friday from the 4th November until the 16th December, at the Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road, in Nunhead. SE15. We know it?s an early start for the preschooler session, as this is the only way we could fit it in, but we?ll do our best to have teapots fully loaded! The timings are

9.00 ? 9.40: 3.5 year olds and above (kids and adults will need a ukulele each to learn together!)

9.45 ? 10.25: 2 ? 3.5 year olds (children are welcome to bring an instrument too if they'd like)

10.30 ? 11.05: crawlers ? 2 year olds (only adults need a ukulele, but the children will be involved in the class)

11.10 ? 11.45: Parent/Carer with pre-crawling babies (only adults need bring a uke)

These are a little different to usual Nimble Tots classes as you?ll need to sign up for a full half term as classes will build on each other. We?ll have smaller groups, and they?ll involve lots of musical games and activities as well as a chance for adults and younger folk alike to learn the uke together (and don?t forget to bring your uke! We?ll have some advice up here on buying an instrument if you don?t have one already). There are classes for parents/carers with tiny tots (pre-crawlers) when we?ll focus on the adults learning, then there will ?music with a uke? classes for older babies and toddlers where parents/carers will play the instruments, but children will be involved a lot! Then for preschooler classes (for 3.5 year olds and above), both adults AND children will play and learn together!

Price: ?56 for the full half term block for each adult/child pair, or ?51 if you book by the 14th October. Siblings are welcome at half price ? pre-crawling babies can join any session with their older sibling (no sibling fee for babies under 6 months), older siblings are half price, and we think it?s best for you to attend the class appropriate for the youngest child (but do email if any queries about this!).

    • She also suggested that the 2017 Manchester terror attack (perpetrated by an Islamist extremist) was due to "divisiveness" and tried to pin the blame on the far right. Grim, really.
    • Thankfully, it seems that yesterday's "Red vs Blue" school wars thing has turned out to be a hoax/ nonsense/ whatever. (See link below if you managed to avoid this stuff). In years to come, we might found out who - or which countries - has an interest in testing what happens when you post socially disruptive content online about fake events... In the meantime, thank you to our local teachers and other school workers, police community support officers and police officers. My commute happens to take me past a bunch of schools at dropoff/pickup times, and I noticed a much greater and more visible presence on streets outside/near schools than normal. Annoying as it must have been to be distracted from other important duties, I really value and appreciate them looking out for the kids. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/school-wars-trend-red-blue-london-police-latest-142328025.html https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/jan/01/birmingham-new-year-fireworks-display-centenary-square-police

    • a) Because they published a leaflet in Urdu promising to give "Muslims a strong voice". This is reprehensible - just as a party that promised to give Protestants or Jews or Buddhists alone "a strong voice" would be acting in a sectarian manner. Parties - especially socialist ones like the English & Welsh Greens are now - should not be assymetrically promoting the interests of one religious group. b) Because they published a video in Urdu and Bangla criticising Kier Starmer for meeting Narendra Modi, when Modi has nothing to do with the issues discussed. Modi is a Hindu nationalist bigot - but in this context, the Greens are just shitstirring existing tensions between British Hindus and British Muslims for the purpose of trying to win Muslim votes - see the first point. FWIW I don't have any problem with parties communicating with the electorate in languages other than English (from Irish to Polish to Malayalam). What is very suspicious is when parties pump out sectarian messages only in one language... When Mamdani ran for Mayor of NYC (and won) he released plenty of campaign videos in multiple languages - but always with English subtitles too. There was never a suggestion he was sending different, sectarian messages to different groups.     https://uk.news.yahoo.com/why-greens-made-advert-urdu-164616073.html https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/uk/uk-green-party-accused-of-sectarianism-after-releasing-videos-in-urdu-and-bangla-featuring-pm-modi-and-gaza/articleshow/128826689.cms
