Hi,

I am looking for a Portuguese language playgroup for 0-5 year-olds. Is there any already running in the Dulwich/SE London area and if not, would anyone out there be interested in starting one? I know there are some French, Spanish and even Brazilian groups -- but what about European Portuguese? Ideally the children would speak or be learning Portuguese.

I am Portuguese and my eldest son (22 months) is pretty good at speaking/understanding Portuguese, but I am keen to help him keep up the language as much as possible (English is tough to fight!) and playing with other children would be perfect...

Thanks!

Hi,

Further to the above, if anyone is interested, there is actually a playgroup running in Stockwell, but it is both Spanish and Portuguese...

I have contacted the person at the council that deals with Portuguese language teaching for children (yes, there is someone!) to find out about activities closer to Dulwich and can let you know when I get a response -- please PM me if you're interested (apart from those that already have -- I'll keep you posted!)

    • I was amazed to see a young nuthatch crawling headfirst down a the trunk of a tree in my garden to bully the great tits and blue tits off the bird feeders yesterday.  Didn't expect to see one this far from the woods.
    • some titles are "protected" ie you have to have certain qualifications and be registered with the supervising council https://www.hcpc-uk.org/about-us/who-we-regulate/the-professions/ Dietician is registered and protected Nutricionist is neither. Anyone can claim to be a nutricionist or chiropracter etc
    • It didn't occur to me to ask. No idea if dieticians are employed within the NHS. It is just one line of enquiry among others. The GP mentioned it, not me.
