casamac
Hi there, I live in SE4 (Brockley) with a 6 yo and an 11yo girl (secondary). I have had au-pairs for wraparound care for the past 3-4 years (before that I used a nanny share and also a childminder) but am now looking into a live out arrangement. I can be flexible as to when this starts depending on finding the right person and what their availability is like but I think it would be starting in the new year. Role would be daily 3.15 pick up - 7/7.30pm (when one of us gets home) and mornings perhaps once a week. Very occasionally I would need you to work later (with advance notice) when I have a work event and my husband is also away. There would be some requirements to take the kids to and from after-school clubs in that time, maybe twice a week. I usually do the cooking except once a week when there is a late club and I would ask you to feed the kids early (usually we eat together later). Although of course if you are someone good at cooking we could look at this becoming a bigger part of the role. I need some help with light housework too - the things the au pair does now ie, hanging out and folding washing and making sure the kitchen is tidy, nothing heavy, I have a cleaner who comes once a week. Also to supervise the kids homework on the days they have time, basically to be good company for them. I would fix a minimum payment based on 25 hours a week and then pay extra for any additional hours you do on top of that. In school holidays I would have some full days. So I think it would suit someone with flexibility in their schedule who could go with the flow a bit on extra hours. I have had a lot of different childcare arrangements over the years and consider myself a pretty fair employer. But we are at a different stage now, so I am looking for something different. If anyone thinks that this sounds like them then please could they PM me. Thanks for reading.
