Hi there

My 6 yr old son is obsessed by this place as we drive past it quite often. We have one day left before we go back to school and this is what he wants to do!

I have looked on the southwark.gov site, but no information about opening times/ days open.

Does anyone on this fabulous forum (shameless buttering up) have any information on this?

Many thanks!

We love the adventure playground and have been going there for years. Although I think the equipment is mostly for older primary children, there is a sandpit and a couple of little tyre swings too - face pointing and other activities too sometimes,

if there haven't been too many council cutbacks. There are a couple of lovely guys who run the place and I've always found a

really nice atmosphere there, often a drum kit out on the grass for kids to play on, someone on hand when there's a bump etc.

Nice place for a picnic too.

    • @NewWave I know how you feel. Like you, I've lived and spent prolonged periods of time in some pretty crazy places and always thought I could handle a bunch of kids. But, no - they got to me and I was shaking like a leaf afterwards. That's what age does to us.  But I did engage with them, so bear that in mind.  My advice would be to never let anything like that stop you doing the things you love. I'm certainly not going to stop using the park, there's no way they get to take away our cherished spaces!  If you see them, just change tack and keep out of their way. My dog won't even go that way again, so that's that problem solved. (If I see them again, I'm going to keep taking photos from a safe distance).
    • Truly horrific. Being passive or fighting back is what many of us think about by violent theft.
    • What ridiculous waste of money
    • Lots of good primary schools within reach of there. Fairlawn, Goodrich, Ivydale and Horiman. Secondary schools you will definitely get into the Harris Academies or Sydenham Girls or Forest Hill Boys, you might just be on the boundary for the East Dulwich or North Dulwich Charter but it changes every year.
