katanita
Hi there, I hope your friend gets the fund she needs. You might want to clarify what the money is going towards, as a return flight to Budapest should be a lot less than ?700, so people might be confused by that. wulfhound
There's also the option of taking an overnight bus from Victoria Coach Station.27 hours on a bus with a toddler is a slog, admittedly, but if your friend can't raise ?700 it's worth considering - much cheaper than flying.Good luck! George Orwell
Flying Wizz Air Wednesday before Christmas, returning Wednesday after Christmas from Luton is ?208 per person, i.e. ?416 return for two.You won't be getting anything from me. katanita
I can see prices are a lot higher than usual due to the season. Still worth shopping around. But either way I would definitely state that cost clearly on the GoFundMe page as people will be inevitably be skeptical.Lmartin Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> The money is to get her and her son a return> flight to Budapest I have done some research on> cheap airlines and have found the lowest price of> ?678 return for both, as this is the Christmas> holiday season I suppose that's why the amount is> a lot higher . George Orwell
"Yes air whizz was the cheapest that I found the dates that she would be going for are for 2 weeks from the 23rd December to the 2nd of Jan so that she can spend enough time with her nan and mum. Thanks for the advice"Well, if there's a shortage of cash then she and you ought to be flexible with dates. George Orwell
OK then, I'll try and be helpful. Every day you wait before you buy a ticket the price will go up and up until the day before, when, if there are any seats left it'll cost a grand a ticket. Think about buying now.I'm not putting you down, it just seems that in my experience sometimes those in need can appear to be a tad unreasonable in their requests when looking for the generosity of others.I'll say no more on the subject. Jules-and-Boo
I'd like to take my nan to Australia to see her elderly brothers for Christmas - but any time actually - they'd love to see each other anytime - even for one minute. It would never have crossed my mind to ask for donations.Maybe you're starting something. Jules-and-Boo
I'm sorry, but I don't actually know what to say when there are people on our streets who have nowhere to go - especially in the context of your request - for Christmas Day.If your friend needs to see her family, then the specifics of dates wouldn't really be such a big deal - would they?It would be cheaper after Christmas holidays, for instance. Have you thought about sending her a video? I'm guessing you talk to her regularly?
