I can see prices are a lot higher than usual due to the season. Still worth shopping around. But either way I would definitely state that cost clearly on the GoFundMe page as people will be inevitably be skeptical.

"Yes air whizz was the cheapest that I found the dates that she would be going for are for 2 weeks from the 23rd December to the 2nd of Jan so that she can spend enough time with her nan and mum. Thanks for the advice"

Well, if there's a shortage of cash then she and you ought to be flexible with dates.

OK then, I'll try and be helpful. Every day you wait before you buy a ticket the price will go up and up until the day before, when, if there are any seats left it'll cost a grand a ticket. Think about buying now.

I'm not putting you down, it just seems that in my experience sometimes those in need can appear to be a tad unreasonable in their requests when looking for the generosity of others.

I'll say no more on the subject.

I'm sorry, but I don't actually know what to say when there are people on our streets who have nowhere to go - especially in the context of your request - for Christmas Day.

If your friend needs to see her family, then the specifics of dates wouldn't really be such a big deal - would they?

It would be cheaper after Christmas holidays, for instance.

Have you thought about sending her a video? I'm guessing you talk to her regularly?

    • "In Southwark, you can recycle plastic plant pots at home in your main recycling bin, provided they are not black, as black plastic is often not detected by recycling machinery. Clean, rigid plastic pots (tubs/trays) are accepted, but soft plastic pots should be taken to a local supermarket drop-off point" B&Q take as well https://www.diy.com/responsible-business/community/community-re-use (I've just found much of this out) Or you can make little men
    • Can they be recycled? I didn't know that. I've tried to give them away in the past. One community garden took a load one year, but I haven't had much luck otherwise. People are probably trying to get rid of their own 🤣 I don't know why nurseries don't use biodegradable pots, but I suppose it's because they would biodegrade before the plant reached the plant centre/retailer and then the gardener at the end of the chain.
