Hi all,

For anyone interested in using cloth nappies;

My monthly cloth nappy advice session is this Friday, 17th September between 10 & 11.00am at the Ivydale Childrens Centre, entrance on Bellwood Road in Nunhead. No need to book, just turn up on the day (please do your best to arrive on time as this makes the sessions better for everyone).

Also, please note: Future sessions will be on the 3rd WEDNESDAY of the month, still from 10-11am. e.g. 20th October will be the next one.

This is a great session to come along to if you are interested in using cloth nappies, or needing help with a system you already have, advice on accessories etc. - please feel free to come along and I will do my best to help you. I also have leaflets about the Real Nappies for London Voucher Scheme which you can take away with you.

Items you are interested in can be purchased on line from The Nappy Lady, and you can use your ?40 RNFL voucher towards any purchases.

I also have two hire kits available, one is a full set of newborn nappies (birth to 15lbs), wraps, bucket, mesh etc. the other consists of Size 1 nappies and wraps, bucket, mesh etc. which fit from 10-18lbs very nicely (generally 6 weeks to 6 months old). Both are available to hire for a very small charge of ?10 for 2 weeks, plus a refundable deposit of ?50. These kits offer a fantastic chance to try using cloth nappies without any real outlay (as you'd spend more than ?10 on disposables in 2 weeks). Feel free to contact me if you'd like to borrow either kit.

Best wishes, Molly

Hi Huggers,

Do you know what make and size they are? They should still be OK as long as the waterproofing hasn't perished.

Do you ever come along to the Family Room drinks? I'd be happy to take a look and try to identify them for you if you like!! If not I'm sure you'd find a home for them via the classified section.

An easy way to test whether they are waterproof is to soak a tea towel and wrap it up in the waterproof cover, make sure there are no openings on the bottom and stand it on a dry towel overnight with a weight on top. If the wetness is still all contained in the morning the covers are still OK!

    • There is no other way than to move out. I am in such a situation myself where our neighbours are complete assholes. They breached the Covenants and when we pointed it they said to take them to court if we want.  Unfortunately, they have made our life miserable and we have to move out.    What helped in our situation is having a calm conversation face to face. It only happened after they tasted their own medicine(i know it's mean but nothing else helps).   I know it's unfair but better move out and prioritise your mental health.
    • Thank you so much for the reply. Jeffery turned up a couple of hours ago. I edited title to say found but somehow it didn't save. Thank you so much for going to the trouble of posting this sighting... even if it didn't turn out to be Jeff.  Jeff came running down the street like a bat out of hell and ran into the house. Never been so relieved. Mind you i've been up and down the roads shouting his name out all day. Even in Wingfield street. 🤗
    • I saw a smallish black cat outside 1 Wingfield Street just now.  I am not convinced it was Jeff, the eyes look a little different.
