amyt
When I was leaving East Dulwich station on Friday evening around 8pm, there were "fire balloons" in the sky--sort of a cross between a white paper lantern, hot air balloon, and a kite. They were maybe the size of a kitchen bin liner, and seemed to be coming from the direction of the football grounds.Does anyone know what that was about? It was a pretty interesting sight! Thanks in advance,Amy Thorne Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/13231-fire-balloons-in-the-sky-near-east-dulwich-station-friday-evening/ Share on other sites
dbboy
Can be great fun to do, but probably quite dangerous to do as likely to be using hairspray as the accelerant. ultrauk
They were Chinese lanterns & burn for no more than 20mins. Great to see but can be dangerous as they can burn down trees & fields in summer if they get stuck or come down alight.
