Hi,

Anyone know what I could do with some (really) old electronics? I have quite a bit and have no car, so the Southwark recycling depot isn't an option. The WEEE at Sainsburys is only there on the first Wednesday of every month and only during office hours, so again not an option.

Thank you!

Sarah

I have been looking for a WEEE recycling facility and, logically, thought about the the Southwark web site.

I initially tried the map of recycling facilities.

This page is unbelievably bad, error box on first access, no key to symbols, when clicking on the site symbol (presumably should be a description of facilities available) brings up an empty box. Possibly it was designed and built by a 16 year old on work experience but even so is still useless. If it was actually built by someone who was paid for the job they and their managers should be sacked!

Anyway, I managed to find a different map which shows only 2 places for WEEE recycling, both right in North

If the council is serious about helping people responsibly recycle electronic goods there should be more WEEE facilities in the south of the borough and they should make it easier to find them. If not, people will just throw old electrical stuff in the general rubbish bin or just dump on the side of the road.

    • Blame me then as I will be voting for the Reform Party at the next general election after being a Conservative voter for many years.  Two tier Keir has just shot himself in the foot with his announcement about national insurance exemptions for Indian workers coming to the UK whilst he imposes the exact opposite on UK businesses.

    • Can't blame it just on Jazzer.  More than just one person to blame.  I'd start off with the Liv Dems going into coalition with the Tories.  But very much a six degrees of separation thing so we all must take a share of the blame 😔
