Best trike for 1 year old?

Family want to buy my little boy a trike for his 1st birthday. He is very active, not yet walking but nearly there.

Any recommendations?

We've got a mothecare smart trike plus for our 9 month old- really good and can be adapted to suit them until they're two or three.

I was looking at the same one for our little girl's birthday. Does anyone know if there is a big difference in the models- i.e. the smart trike plus, zoo, etc? They all look similar except for the price.

We bought little snowboarder one of these for his 1st birthday in the hope it will last him ages. To be honest he's only getting the hang of it really now at 17m, but I like the fact it starts as a trike and can convert to a bike. Looks kid of cool too - no more bright plastic!!
