I've just had Clive Bloomfield sand & varnish my floorboards in my lounge as well as paint and decorate the room. He did a great job and the floorboards have been taken right back to the original colour (a good few tones lighter than they were) then varnished and now they look amazing. I'm really pleased with the job he's done. I also got this all done whilst I was away on holiday and he was completely trustworthy to leave my keys with. He thoroughly sealed all the near by rooms with plastic covers so that dust didn't get in and cleaned up very well after the job. He showed up when he was meant to and on time, responded to all texts and calls quickly and kept me updated on progress whilst the job was being done, notified my neighbours when any noisy work was about to be done and came back to do a couple of snagging bits once I was back so that I was fully happy with the job. The final cost was exactly as he quoted. That may all sound simple but many don't get these basics right and Clive definitely did. His number is 07939 552479 and I totally recommend him.   If you haven't already watched this totally shocking docudrama on Channel 4 then make sure you watch it and tell everyone you know to watch It It lays bare the scandalous, harmful and lethal (in some cases) behaviour of the water companies since privatisation. I for one didn't realise that the water companies pay the regulator/environment agency to regulate them in one mega conflict of interest. This is as shocking as the post office/postmasters scandal with even more far reaching consequences.

  We have been going to Franklins for many years. On the whole we have found both the food and service extremely good, and good value for money, but there have been one or two low points, including unfortunately a very expensive but disappointing meal with friends which I was paying for. I think it may depend on who is in the kitchen. We had a really excellent meal from their Christmas menu before Christmas this year, which for the quality of the food and cooking we didn't feel was expensive at all. I think it would be a real shame if it was turned into a pub. It isn't that kind of place. That's why we like it.
