Expecting baby number 2 in the New Year? Half price refresher antenatal class Sat 17th December

Recommended Posts

The Group (www.thegroupantenatal.co.uk) are changing the format of their refresher courses, designed for parents expecting their second (or subsequent) baby.

We are trialing our new format on Saturday 17th December 12.30-16-30 and offering this at half price (?75). We have just one or two spaces left for this date and would love to welcome you to join us!

Please email [email protected] if you would like to take part and start preparing your older child and getting organised for your little one's arrival.

The course will remind you about what happens during labour and birth, with an emphasis on what might be different second time around. The course will give you and your partner an opportunity to plan for the birth and postnatal period together and to think through how you will prepare and care for your older child at this time. It covers feeding (breast and bottle), expressing breastmilk and basic newborn care, all with an emphasis on how you might balance the baby?s needs with those of your older child(ren) and yourselves.

Classes are run by practising midwife Rachel. Her first-hand experience in caring for families, as well as being a mum to two young children, means she can offer honest, evidence-based advice to help prepare families for life with more than one child.

Subsequent courses will run from 9.30am ? 1:30pm one Sunday per month at the French House at 52 Lordship Lane (find us downstairs) and cost ?150 per couple. This includes:

-Attendance for two adults

-All course planning materials and a ?Refresher? handbook

-A coffee and freshly baked French pastry during the break

-A 10% discount at the French House on the day and thereafter

We have one more space for a couple to join our Saturday 17th Dec (12:30-16:30) Refresher Class. Any second time parents-to-be of winter babies 2016/17 that might be interested? We would love you to join us!

Only ?75 (half price for our first re-vamped course) and covers so much useful prep including:

- How will we prepare my older child for having a sibling?

    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
