Remove or smooth over Artex ceiling

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Scraping it off seems a nightmare - some pre 1980s Artex contains asbestos apparently - it has been suggested it can just be plastered over.

Does anyone have any experience of this and can you recommend someone?

It can be steamed off 'sometimes'

But as Jason says, it may pay to get is skimmed

dont cover up asbestos get someone who knows what there doing you have to sit in there with that covered up? my advice would be get a speaiclist to look at it im sure theres a few on here
