Has anyone else been through a 2+ year old teething. You would think I would know this as she is child No 2, but I honestly can't remember No 1 doing it.

I'm just wondering if it could be this - she has all the symptoms I'd recognise in a baby - hot, red cheeks, chewing, disturbed sleep (annoyingly!), foul temper, sore bum? I thought she was just being a horrid 2 year old lol.

Any advice welcome.

It's the additional molars Mellors, it can be really rotten for then - lots of saliva, nappy rash etc.

I found Anbesol Liquid best - it's Non systemic pain killer (numbs the gum) - you get a bit on your finger & rub it on the sore bit of gum - easier to work out where with molars as you should be able to feel a bump or the 4 points breaking through. If Mini Mellors is really bad you can use Anbesol alongside usual meds - would recommend an ibroprofen based med as that is an anti inflammatory as well as giving pain relief. Paracetomol alone won't touch molar pain.

Hope this helps, sorry for any typos - in middle of mad pre bath time.

My daughter is hitting 20 months, granted its not quite 2 but nearly there. She has been throwing ridiculous tantrums, had horrible blistering nappy rash and constant runny nose. She has been teething since she was 8 weeks old and got her first teeth a long time ago. We are nearing a full set just the back ones to go now and 2 front side ones. I just wish it would hurry up and get out the way so we can have our bouncy little girl back. its horrible to watch them go through, even more so at this age. Shouldn't be too long. Ive had a constant tantrum since 6am this morning.. not good :-(

I can't believe I didn't recognise it as teething sooner! No 1 must have managed without it.

You are all marvellous as ever - dispatched husband to Sainsbos pharmacy last night for baby Nurofen, and finally got a decent nights sleep. Poor little love has even been pointing at her mouth and saying its "ouchy". Doh! I'm going to stick with drugs until it passes - she is like a different child today, thank Christ.

    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
    • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
    • That is also a Young's pub, like The Cherry Tree. However fantastic the menu looks, you might want to ask exactly who will cook the food on the day, and how. Also, if  there is Christmas pudding on the menu, you might want to ask how that will be cooked, and whether it will look and/or taste anything like the Christmas puddings you have had in the past.
