Joiner to make external French door?

We are trying to reinstate the French door usually found at the end of Victorian living rooms into the side return outside.

Our builder will knock it out & the lintel is still in place.

But I figured it would be more cost effective to get a local joiner to make a timber French door and supply the glass rather than a window company. Please tell me if I'm wrong though.

    • Another recommendation for Robert here. Lovely guy. Serviced our boiler AND made a small safety amend free of charge. We'll definitely be using again! He's on 07952584171
    • I suspect this fine was anticipated by RM in their aim of getting everyone to use their more expensive tracked and signed for services. I had an important letter to send and was reluctant to use the ordinary and unreliable 1st class post so sent it 'signed for' at a cost of over twice as much. It's like the unreliability of 1st and 2nd class has become a marketing tool for more expensive services. Paranoid - moi?
