- Help deciding where to have your baby

- Practical ways in which partners can be supportive, help labour progress and feel confident during the birth

- Breast and bottle feeding a newborn baby, troubleshooting common breastfeeding issues

- Preparing your older child for being a big brother or sister

- Introducing your older child to the new baby

- Getting organised for your new arrival

- Practical tips on coping with two: getting around, what to do with your older child whilst feeding the new baby, ideas for partners to help during and cope with the postnatal period, using slings and carriers.

The course is open to up to 4 or 5 couples and offers valuable protected time for you and your partner to plan together for the birth and the new addition to your family. Previous attendees have said:

" Invaluable. A great confidence builder and reassured us of lots of things we had forgotten. Especially useful was the info about integrating first born with the new baby and how to do that and little tips of things to do to involve them."

"It was brilliant, gave us time together, that we had just not had in talking about the second child and gave us confidence too."

"Realistic, non judgemental and honest - given from midwife experience, but also as a parent too"

    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
    • Adapted not forced.  As have numerous species around the world.  Sort of thing that Attenborough features.  Domestic dogs another good example - hung around communities for food and then we become the leader of the pack.  Not sure how long it will take foxes to domesticate, but some will be well on their way.    Raccoons also on the way https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1j8j48e5z2o
