We are looking for a lovely, fun and reliable nanny for 3 days a week (Either Mon-Weds or Tues-Thurs 8am - 6pm) to look after our amazing daughter who is 3 years old and our hilarious son who is 6 months. They would be joined by Frankie, the charming 1yr old son of our nanny sharing neighbours.

We are looking for someone who is friendly, energetic and caring but also firm when needed; who will find classes and activities to take the children out and about as well as doing fun and varied activities at home; who has plenty of initiative and is also good at working in collaboration with parents! We live on Beadnell Road (SE23) and would like someone who is local to the area.

The two younger boys would initially be based at our house and would breakfast together with our daughter. During term time you would then need to drop our daughter off at our local preschool, 8 mins walk away at 8.45am. We would then need you to pick her up at 12.30. You would also look after her in the school holidays, and if she were ill.

We need a nanny who:

Has at least 3-5 years' experience of sole charge care of both babies and young children

Is interested in food and can prepare and cook healthy and varied meals

Is happy to do some light housework (tidying up after the children, dealing with their laundry, sorting out the dishwasher etc)

Is very self motivated and loves being outdoors

Has fluent spoken and written English

Has excellent references

Is a non-smoker with first aid training and a valid DBS check

Is either Ofsted registered, or willing to acquire this

Start date flexible, ideally from April/May 2017.

Salary: in line with experience

Holiday: 12 days/year plus bank holidays and the week between Xmas and new year.

If you meet all the criteria above please send a CV through to me at [email protected] along with any questions you may have.

Many thanks

Lucy

    • Trinco is at 20 Lordship Lane, near Goose Green. The building is called Oru Space although I did notice the other day that there is a small neon sign that says Trinco outside though easy to miss. Good for Sri Lankan vegetarian curries, not good if you are after chicken tikka masala-style food that all the other curry restaurants in Lordship Lane serve (edit - sorry Moovart, I've just seen you've also answered this!).

    • Don't forget Netflix. A few weeks ago, the US issued a security strategy document warning of Europe's "civilisational erasure" due to immigration. Britain's culture however faces a greater threat from the more subtle influence of American entertainment promoting American values and the American way of life, a kind of "Netflixisation". There are many people who are happy to pay a Netflix subscription but refuse to pay the BBC license fee, so money goes into making more American entertainment while depriving the necessary investment into British programming. I wonder at the timing of the issue of the US demand for Greenland becoming news again and can't help but think it is partly a Trump misdirection of Europe's attention from the dreadful events in Minesota and elsewhere in the US. Putin of course would love it if there was conflict between the US and Europe.
