We have just got back from Bournemouth and this last weekend (Friday) as we passed the local Boots you could not help but notice how crowded the shop was, with people trying to force their way through the entrance doors when it seemed impossible to do so due to people inside. We later found out that it was a "flash sale" of Xmas gifts, with 70% off, this mostly being toiletries sets. We were told of people grabbing hoards of stuff, pushing and shoving, and staff, what they themselves termed, being assaulted by shoppers shoving them out of the way when they tried to restore some sort of order. Has it really come to this, that in decent areas like Bournemouth people have to fight over soap. Have seen the social media reports from elsewhere and can't imagine how bad it was in large city centre shops. Anyone experience it personally?

Why, ruffers, don't you believe that Bournemouth is a decent area?

Perhaps, on reflection, using a different adjective such as "serene" or "tranquil" might have been more appropriate I'll grant you, but the generic point remains that this sort of behaviour is spreading everywhere.

    • It should be easy enough to point out to anyone even thinking of voting reform that should they take power they will have no impact. And will make things worse.  And if people think politicians break promises now and reform are a breath of fresh air then they ain’t seen nothing yet  but they won’t really care about immigration if reform do win  uk used to be about law and order and now we have dim talking heads everywhere unchallenged going “leave the ECHR, stuff the judges, just do it!!”   like life is that simple sweeties
    • I have been reliably informed that it's not the same group.
    • my bet is it's the same group and no amount of talking to is going to make a difference.
    • Definitely not intended  to come across as "gleeful". Quite the opposite, because developments such as this will only encourage extreme right-wingers such as Reform. And heaven help us if they ever formed a government. It's incumbent on Labour to come up with an effective  policy to "smash the gangs" otherwise we are facing Farage and his gang further down the road.
