Hello.. looking for ideas where to go..something to do with mum visiting..either local or central London

Maltby street or borough market is lovely to do with parents or the Tower of London if you've not done it before.

What are your mum's interests?

Locally, there's the Horniman and Dulwich Art Gallery, both well worth visiting if she hasn't been before. And parks, cafes and restaurants near to both, too.

ETA: Where does she live? If in the sticks, Brixton Market might be interesting, or a walk round the shops of Peckham (old and new).

If the weather is nice, a boat trip down to Greenwich (lots of interesting things to do there, plus a market) might be nice. And you could come back via the DLR to Lewisham, and then a 185 (there are other routes, but I always like going on the DLR, especially if there's no driver and you can get seats at the front by the windows!)

Borough market and Lewisham is a possibility be nice to go somewhere on a bus or dlr for a change. Mum likes markets..shops..little walking but not too much..thanks for suggestions so far I had a brainfreeze

I didn't mean Lewisham as an interesting destination, rather as a way to get home from Greenwich via the DLR!

I personally don't think there's much of interest in Lewisham, though I may be wrong!

Not the best weather for it but this site has loads of self-guided walks - took some friends on a Dickens ramble based on his directions at Christmas and they loved it. He sensibly includes plenty of pub recommendations!

Thanks guys..oooo very cold today, we did a drink and snack stop at east dulwich tavern then took the 40 bus all the way to Borough Market, I have never being before.. and sat for evening song at Southwark cathedral and dinner after..
