Ahh now, I think we should go to Metric for beer.... personally I never drink a half, so it is Litre's for me from now on (providing they are the same cost as pints that is !!)

Maybe we should start a local campaign to get the landlords of ED to use 1/2 Litre glasses instead of 1/2 Pints and Litre glasses instead of pint ones, but charge the same old imperial price !!! :)-D

Jah - re: what we should drink our pint in. Obviously we should drink our pints in the CPT

measurements - hmmm - I'm biased towards metric but have a few remnants from imperial. A pint is obviously important but even that has become slightly inadequate so a Litre glass doesn't sound so bad

    • Steve used to joke that my old VW Golf kept them in business. I've got a more reliable car now so maybe that's why they are closing. Sad day.
    • Is Dell Autos closing down completely or just moving? For whatever it's worth, for MOTs I've had good recent experience with The Test Centre in Deptford. They only do MOTs so they don't have any particular incentive to fail you and they usually have same day appointments. Open 7 days a week and late. https://www.thetestcentre.co.uk/our-test-centres/deptford-branch/ Obviously you would still need a "normal" garage to do servicing and repairs etc.
    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
