flocker spotter
Could i please ask ED parents not to describe schools which are not full of 'white middle-class children' as 'in special measures'?I overhead such in the hairdressers yesterday and it had me seething. The school she claimed was failing is Ofsted rated good. As a local teacher whose children have attended one of the less adored ED primaries, I think people should be a bit more sensitive to the teachers, children and school communities which they are dissing. If you choose to reject a school place on the basis of 'no or few birds of a feather' then say so. To claim the school is rubbish is insulting and reflects poorly on you too. midivydale
Flocker, this post will not go down well but for what it is worth, I agree with you. We are blessed with a varity of strong schools in Southwark and I too get dismayed at the "oh I am not so sure about that school" talk I so often overheard at open days last year. There are very few truly diverse and multicultural schools left in our area of London and it pains me. I had to search long and hard to find one such school for my child. I hear you!
