Builder Recommendation

I would like recommend builder George Pistolea (07570924915).

My experience of George's work is very positive and despite finding out that my house is a very unusual concrete construction (!) and subsequent issues around getting new structural engineers calculations and new designs for steel supports- George delivered on time and budget. He listened to my instructions and carried them out without issue. I have also been very impressed by George's general knowledge, problem solving and help with building control.

I would suggest that with all building works managing your builders and getting them to work well with the other trades you are using (electricians / gas engineers / plumbers / glaziers etc) is vital. I have found that George and his team already have working relationships with local trades and this helps to effect an efficient build.

George could perhaps benefit from a more professional image but has been excellent for me on a very tight budget with time constrictions.

I have also had a positive experiences with George. He did a big double and single story extension for us and interior alterations (ground works, sewer works, steel structural works, plastering decorating etc) He responded to our alterations throughout and was always polite and enthusiastic to do a good job. I am still using him now to come back and do smaller stuff around the place.

    • Plastic flower pots full stop, have so many of them and most go into the recycling rather than being reused.
    • Flower pot sizes. Even ones that look as if they should fit together don't . Same with the saucers that go underneath them. Why aren't they standardised? GRRRRR. I made the mistake of starting to clear out my loft (I still have a pre-gentrification type loft). Now my (pre-gentrification type) kitchen is filled with zillions of flower pots and saucers. I am so irrationally enraged that I need to sit down with a nice cup of tea. I've just put the kettle on.
    • hah ha! On the subject of dodgy keys and also police protocol with stolen cars, my first car was a 1969 mini which you could open and start by wiggling a small flat-headed screwdriver. No wonder it was stolen. About a week later the police called to say they'd spotted it on the Dog Kennel Hill estate opposite East Dulwich station. In those days parking was free so at least I didn't receive any tickets, but I surprised the police just left a message with the address and expected me to go and pick it up. I was slightly worried I'd have to tackle the culprits myself when I arrived.
    • Great pub, great deals and great service! Food is second to none Highly recommend 👌
