They provide an insurance backed guarantee on work completed, which is required for the buyer to obtain a mortgage. They handled the process from start to finish well.

It's doable as a DIY job. You can get rid of it completely over three years, using a strong glyphosate weedkiller, with a combination of spraying and stem cutting/filling. And a lot of determination.

But if you need to sell your property, then getting a contract as chris describes is probably the way to go.
