Smartwater Property Marking

Considering getting one of these kits and would like some feedback about how effective they are. Does displaying a sign in your window prove to be a good deterrent? Has anyone lost valuables marked with Smartwater and got them back?

Anyone know whether the police have any of these kits available at the moment or do I need to buy one?

Does a little sticker in the window deter anyone at night/in the dark who can't even read the sticker. Hmmm.

I guess it would deter someone who was checking out the property in advance with cold calling etc. Is yours the Select DNA kit or the Smartwater chemical? Did you get yours from the police station?
