social cycle ride 10am Saturday Feb 25th

This is one of our regular two-hour easy-paced Saturday morning rides. It starts from Peckham Square which is the open space between the Pulse and Peckham Library at 10am.

Riders will head south to Ladywell Fields along London Cycle Network LCN 22. That is Up it cannot be denied but there will be a very good view. The route to get there goes alongside Peckham Rye Park, then Brockley Way, and Ewhurst Rd. It then turns north on National Route 21 to the curly bridge over the railway where most riders try the steep circular ascent. I can't do that myself but well done for trying.

Time for a brief stop at the cafe in Ladywell Fields then back via Ladywell Rd, Crofton Park, and Peckham Rye Park again (different paths). Return to Peckham Square at exactly 12 noon (or thereabouts).

Just turn up. Under 18s welcome with an adult. Everyone welcome. Ride organiser is Bruce Lynn on 07729 279 945. Book with him or just turn up. https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/events/peckham-healthy-ride-30/

    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
    • One wonders if he would have defected if he had, ahem, held on to the leadership of Southwark and whether he felt that "Labour are no longer the vehicle for social justice" during his leadership election........my how quickly things change in the thoughts of a politician 😉 I think this sums things up quite nicely: A senior Southwark Labour spokesperson hit back: “Local residents can draw their own conclusions about Cllr McAsh’s swift move from Labour leadership hopeful to the Green Party, after he didn’t get his own way. While he’s thinking about his own career, Southwark Labour are delivering for residents.” One wonders if he will stand as a Green candidate in Goose Green.
    • No doubt if he determines to stand for a ward he will enlighten us - at least his track record is one of using this site to communicate (inter alia). I would suspect that (1) his personal views on traffic will have remained consistent but that (2) his views on local democracy and proper consultation will have as well.
    • Yes, but I want to know where he stands on all this stuff now. My feeling is it won't be any different from Labour?
